Toelichting bij de uitleencijfers.

Er is een lichte daling van de uitleencijfers ten opzichte van 2012. Toename in het gebruik van e-books zou een oorzaak kunnen zijn.

  • De invoering van selfservice lenen bij het Uitleenbureau in februari 2013 heeft geleid tot een daling van bijna 50% van het aantal uitleningen aan de balie.
  • Het lenen via selfservice op de 3e verdieping is afgenomen. Mogelijke reden is de uitbreiding van selfservice lenen bij het Uitleenbureau op de 1ste verdieping.
  • De balie van de Tijdschriftenzaal op de 2de verdieping werd in 2013 gesloten. Op deze zaal was lenen niet meer mogelijk.
  • De CMB verkocht haar leenautomaat. Uitleencijfers via selfservice zijn daarom niet opgenomen in het statistisch overzicht.
  • Het aantal verlengingen via de catalogus is aanzienlijk lager dan in 2012. De oorzaak is zeer waarschijnlijk het in gebruik nemen van de nieuwe versie LBS in april 2013.

Voor de UB

Ook in 2013 werd een record aantal bezoekers behaald. Na de 1,5 miljoen bezoekers van 2012 stonden er eind 2013 maar liefst 1,6 miljoen bezoekers op de teller.

Het intensieve gebruik van het UB-gebouw vraagt steeds dringender om gebouwaanpassingen, die ook betere routing, selfservice dienstverlening, daglichtbeleving en geluidsmanagement beogen.

Sinds augustus 2013 zijn de openingstijden van het UB gebouw door de week en in het weekend verder verruimd, naar tevredenheid van velen.
